With so many Google official sources it can sometimes be difficult to keep track of what they have actually stated about a subject.

The Ask Google tool searches over 25 official Google sources - Google help, Google blog, Google webmaster central blog, etc. It gives some good insight on what Google has actually said.  It can also display results from Google answers and the stuff there is not from Google but can often be helpful in answering webmaster questions.

(If you see a result that starts with answers.google.com do not consider it an official source, but enjoy the info)

Known issues - directory listings may show up, ignore those. There can be personal content in some Google products. The ask Google tool is now also a Google gadget (use the "add to Google" button above).
